Rural R&D for profit ‘precision to decision’ (P2D) project
In 2017, KG2 was engaged to conduct data collection for the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources for their Rural R&D for profit program.
KG2 surveyed 1000 producers across 17 industries to benchmark farmer’s needs, perceived risks, benefits and expectations in relation to digital agriculture and big data.
The study remains an important resource that benchmarked the status of telecommunications infrastructure, farm data collection and sharing in the Australian Agricultural Industry.

Animal Health Australia (AHA) and Plant Health Australia (PHA)
This was a continuation of similar surveys conducted in 2010 and 2013, to help improve and guide the strategic direction of the program.
Grains research & development corporation (GRDC)
In 2014, KG2 interviewed 600 grain growers on behalf of the GRDC to examine the cost of weeds to Australian producers, alongside the adoption of weed management and tillage practices. The 2016 report remains one of the most comprehensive, national analysis of the distribution and economic impact of weeds on Australian grain producers.

NSW DPI Enhances Biosecurity Through KG2 Research and Stakeholder Engagement
KG2 conducted a 2020 Farm Biosecurity Producer Survey, revealing increased awareness and adoption of biosecurity practices among primary producers.
The survey highlighted that 96% of producers monitor crops/livestock for pests and diseases, up from 44% in 2017, showing significant improvement in biosecurity behaviors.
KG2’s research supports NSW DPI’s efforts to strengthen biosecurity through targeted education, compliance, and industry collaboration.
